i only wrote that "most" of the pastors not "all" of the pastors and my comments are about the former category. it is very clear from my second post. about the it return, to my understanding nobody under rs. 200000 need to pay taxes but that doesn,t mean they dont need to file it. about rs. 500000 salary, everybody knows that besides salary (i know most of the churches don't pay good salary)pastors are getting income from other sources. my question is how honest are they in declaring their income. let it be re. 1 or millions. declaring, filing and paying taxes are all different. i know the editor/writer is a pastor and i always give due recognition to pastors. and i have no hesitation to extend an apology to pastors, if it hurt their senses, but only to those pastors who can stand in confidence before men and god to the points raised by me and the author.
regarding what is in my head, i believe it doesn't require a comment.

Do you know this brother Samkutty who is the editor of this magazine and whose editorial you are commenting and he is a Pastor too. It is an insult to him first and rest of the pastoral community in India. Probably you have come from some areas where you have seen only pastors who are good for nothing., But I would request you to wide open your eyes and see mature and qualified men of God who are in the ministry because they know Christ has appointed them for it. They could have made equally successful in life in any vocation if not this ministry. Your insult to Pastor who have moved to west is as equally disgusting. I know, Pastoral community everywhere need an apology from you.

@gk, i can only pity you for your situation. most times we create our own situations and are 100% responsible for it. do not just say that it is the plan of god for my life. why i say that i pity for your situation, because you do not have a decent pastor in india and have not seen one in life. so sorry for my dear. let me answer some of your questions,(how many pastors are filing their it returns.?) i can't stop laughing. do you know any church in india pays an annual salary over 500000 to their pastor? do you know that govt. exempts people earning less than rs.5 lakhs from filing income tax returns? another question was if the pastors are educated (in the west) they can work., but not in india. what do you have in your head? is it just ceramic or some good soil?

And in India most not all of them choose to become a pastor because they cannot find another job for a living. Most of tehm are below average in the school and if not become a pastor they will be a total failure in the life. I know personally so many of such pastors. Also pastors who left their church to move to west and pastors that come to west just to make money. I dont think this will change but at least this editorial will make this guys aware that people know their actions and pretends in the name of God.

i totally agree with samkutty and wondering about the notes by achayan (original?). i presume the ideas by the writer applies to all the pastors. but the difference is that in the west pastors are professionally educated, well paid and most of them are like office workers coming and staying in the church as other employees do. and also they can work other jobs as they want. in india how many of these pasors are filing their income tax returns? the bible is clear that we need to pay taxes to the govt. making money is not a sin but it should be accountable both before god and men. in the west everybody is doing that and pastors are no exeption. (and ofcourse there is no way out here).

i can understand bro. rajan’s position , since he lives in us and wanted to touch a very tricky issue to keep his audience back home (america) in good humor by targeting pastors in kerala as something very seriously ill. my position is very clear, earning a legitimate living in anywhere is ok and as long as they are not hindrance to his walk with the lord. i consider to treat pastors every where should earn money instead of asking from others. btw how many of our pastor can make a living with out doing real estate, marriage brokers and building contractors?
i am still calling for people to discuss, is once a pastor and always a pastor?

What is simplicity of life according to you? If earning money is against the simplicity of life please do not take more than two pairs of cloths and no need of a Bank account, because you donot need more than 100 rs for a day to live.
Preaching the second coming of Christ and make mansions here on earth is a problem only for those in India, or those in US also? If this is going to be applied American friends are going to leave their multimillion dollar (it will be many crores in India) homes and will be moving to apartments very soon.
